My Light

My Light

A Poem by MattD
"

People leave a big impact on you sometimes, life-changing sometimes. Leftover feelings from over a year.

"

My Light

I fell for you long before I knew you
I’ve changed for the better and now am new
I couldn’t bring myself to say hi
I’ll always love you until the day I die

I gave you something before we met.
Since you made me happy, it was my debt.
It was everything I could confess.
It said you were my world and nothing less.

Now that we met and finally talked,
I always remember those times we walked.
We blended like day and night.
Hearing you took away all my fright.

As we laughed you said you were taken
We have faded out now to someday awaken
Now all we do is just pass by
I always see you gazing at me why?

I just hope I have not acted wrongly.
For me, I know you might not feel as strongly.
My only goal’s to make you smile.
To me that is what is all worth while.

I really want to be back in your life.
Being around you always ends my strife.
Maybe perhaps as just a friend;
We’ll change our minds at the end.

With what I know now, I respect you
You’re with someone else who loves you too,
But fate tells me you’re the one.
Others girls like you: there are none

Within my thoughts, you are everywhere.
If your heart is broken, I’ll always be there,
To show a light that you showed me,
To show you happiness that made me free.
