The Price of a Penned Love

The Price of a Penned Love

A Poem by .:Arianna:.

A pen I had,
and thoughts I penned,
but ink was swift
and running out.

A friend I had,
and true he was,
but smiles were spent
and turned to doubt.

A wish I held,
it crowned my head,
but jewels failed
to make it real.

The crown I wore,
I wore alone,
my neck was frail,
it could not heal.

This ground I walk,
I wet with tears,
but earth is kind
and calls it rain.

A love I had,
and love I did,
but it was penned,
in poet's domain.

A poet I was,
but poets are gone,
dragons of old,
now lost in lore.

The world that was,
is laced with lies,
the words I penned,
came at a price.

I loved this Stanza's line the most.

A love I had,

and love I did,

but it was penned,

in poet's domain.
