Copper Lips

Copper Lips

A Poem by .:Arianna:.

I'll put up
a statue,
of us...
In the central square
of our city:
''The one we stopped building''....

And all
who still
dwell there,
will know now...
Who made them,
cherrished them,
and then never let them be...

You will be crafted gold,
and i will be shimmering silver,
and we will hold each other close..
Even the breeze
will have to curve its way
beside us..

Our beauty
that was only in our
''togetherness''
cannot die there....
It can live there....

They said to me:
''Love,dear child,
does not come every day...
Sometimes it never finds your path,
sometimes it comes,
but does not stay...''

And i found you
when i had just began to bloom,
to open my petals in the threatening
new Sun....

I found you
in you,
looking for me,
with those
eversearching eyes...

I beheld you
only in a place
where they cannot
touch you...
or take you....
...from me....

I loved you....
...somewhere....
where i am bound
to stay with you...
For more i'd never
dare to ask...

I trusted you
in a world where
there is no Time...
So i will have you now,
and long after i die...

We bathe in immortality,
are untouched by reality...

...In the city of Memory and Vision....
...That we left half completed.....

Where law says
to obey no law,
when it comes to love
so kind....
And it gives you
every blessed wish
to create life
with your mind...

So
on an altar
i will place us...
Looking
fearless,
far away...
Over the melting sunset
and the sweet smell
of promised dusk...

The Golden you,
the silver me...
But both with copper lips...
Who of all
will understand
the meaning...of a last kiss?

In the end....we were the same...
In the end,we had a reason
to stay...there...and build
what still needs music and light...
In the end...
we should not stray
from each other...
In the cold cities of today...

........................... whew

... oh my god Arianna... this is beyond poetry... this is breath and light and loss, and letters in the wind that burn in rivers content and sin...

Yeesh... I just can't find the words... this doesn't need any, it drifts through your eyes and smiles with your blood, emerging as smiles that make gardens weep...

So lovely.
