''Longing for Oceania''

''Longing for Oceania''

A Poem by .:Arianna:.

Longing for Oceania’’

A quick breath

and slowest beating,

of hearts that forgot

why they are bleeding.

Where did it start

and where does it end?

The pain of the heart

I shall not understand...

We all want to go home,

but where is our home?

Given up on the Throne,

broken the crown,

losing alone...

The music asks for help,

but entertains the deaf.

Like a sailor lost in Oceania

and the Northern Cross to have left.

This was very very nicely written. Your rhymes are well done and the structure is well written. The poem almost reminded me of a Yeats poem. Great work.

A beautiful write this one...very soft in its tone...sorrow often lends beauty to a poem and it has happened here too...The loveliest lines of the poem were
"The music asks for help
But entertains the deaf"
It is lines like these that set great poets apart from the good ones. You definitely have the potential. Keep writing!

I really liked this. That last stanza just seems perfect. Very good, enough said.
