Green Eye's

Green Eye's

A Poem by ShaneBerry

Green Eye’s

Your thin hand held in mine.

I would hold you all time,

Your soft skin, pale as snow.

All of my feelings you know,

I just want to see, you and me.

And look into those eyes, brilliant green.

They’re the color of, fresh viridity.

There are things I need to say to you, words that my mind seems to vex,

Looking down an unknown road, the kind of fear you can’t confess.

That you scare me to death,

And you take away my lifeless breath.

That so easily you could crush me to the ground till there’s nothing left.

For a while there is not reply, not a word and I must dry my eyes.

And the words you say, take away all of my worry and all of my strife,

“I would do anything to never lose you in my life”

I’d been laying on clichés,

Thinking who could ever really love me.

And now I’m ready to wait,

For when we can share our love and it is no longer in debate.

Don’t look too far,

I know at times I can seem so bizarre,

I hope that doesn’t make you hesitate,

And think of me as second rate because here,

All of my words I will translate.

And put under your pillow as we are laying there.

I find I am lucky, to love one who loves me,

I find I am so happy, to trust someone, who trusts me.
