I Died In Your Arms Last Night

I Died In Your Arms Last Night

A Poem by Shayla Sayer

I died in your arms last night

Crouched beside you as my feet first turned to glass

Then to sand.

A backwards, messed up cycle

Ah-but such is the life of one such as i

One who tries only insomuch that she knows she will fail

One who loves expecting heart break.

I died here last night.

Lad- do you not know the pain you cause

The overwhelming breakage

That fractured a once pristine soul…?

Kept it broken for so long that

It eventually fried the motherboard.

Eventually made it hard to see

Eventually caused me to cry tears of gold dust.

…I died in your arms last night.

This poem reminds me of the 80s song also titled "I died in your arms last night". However, i love the crisp clear image that you created with your words, something that the 80s song could not do! I enjoyed this great job!

Wow I really loved this piece. I like the wording, the images it sent, the layout...everything.
I particularity like the ending

"It eventually fried the motherboard.
Eventually made it hard to see
Eventually caused me to cry tears of gold dust.
…I died in your arms last night."

Very good, thank you for sharing.
