Alles für Sie

Alles für Sie

A Poem by Sandip HomChaudhuri
"

Lines written in summer of 2012

"

Lines written in 2012 in the hospital room in anticipation of our daughter’s arrival. My wife had asked me to write a couple of lines, but I kept pushing it out. In the final moment, i realized how hard it was to conjure up some thoughts, let alone verses. The first stanza was all i could come up with that day, and then followed it up with more once our daughter was born.

I
’Twas just another day in this worldly sphere,
Another day in the cog of the year,
One more ephemeral moment of the u’verse; Yet,
a hapless lack of verse, felt I, on that august morn,
deep within my cerebral purse!
II
A birth is but a string of opportunities; to
rejoice life in all its serendipities,
wallow in the bucolic pleasures, and
ensconce within urban leisures; Perhaps, the
the azure waves that doth mysteries treasure,
awaits unlock by thy infinite curiosities ye dare measure;
Betwixt heaven and earth, the cosmic expanse doth provide
perennial twinklers for thy unvarnished mind, to dream and confide;
And in the wake of a tumultuous eve, should thee an escape desire?
make Zephyr thy chariot to repair unto some pleasanter lair!
III
The sapphire sky and its nimbus cloud,
The verdant pasture and its bovine crowd;
The roaring ‘cean and its golden sand, and
The aural thunder and its lightning strand;
Seeds of imagination and its literary prose,
The honey nectar from the sanguine rose;
An opportune day and its forgiving night,
The invigorating sun and its celestial might;
The blowing tempest and lights the Vibgyors asunder,
Sheets of rain and all ye’d ever wonder;
The kaleidoscope of nature, ye’d ever see,
Alles für Sie, my love; and Sie für sie!

IV
In the eternal journey of thy unbodied soul,
through glorious knowns; towards greater unknowns?
Us, ye chose, to embody thyself to behold the earthly spectacle;
Mirth, ye will, our lives fill and with fortune   most delectable,
Enchant, ye shall, with thy presence and and beauty  most venerable.
Three quarter off the twelve thou hath us wait,
In desperate anticipation, bordering forlorn
When in the blink of an eye  in thy hallowed fate,
Samaira, my precious, thou wert born!
