Somehow without my knowledge
I let it slip away
Our friendship died with the wind
And we find ourselves alone today

I can truly say I'm sorry
For all the pain I've put you through
For not being able to feel the same
But I believe it's what's best for you

I know I can be selfish
And let harsh words slip out
But please know that hurting others
Isn't what I'm about

I can push you out of my life
Because I know you'd be better in the end
You'll find someone worth loving
But let me say you were an amazing friend

Please stay strong without me
You're better off if I'm not there
And though our parting wasn't with a smile on our faces
Understand that I really did care
