The Soul

The Soul

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

My own thoughts about the meaning of the soul...

"

The soul:

An infinitely deep pool of thoughts

And dreams to keep.

Reflecting the mind, it takes in the world.

It teaches how to see

Not with the eyes,

But with the heart

And tells us what to do,

Where to go,

When all else fails.

It keeps us safe from harm

And guides us to a safe place

In the whisper of a shadow,

In the sparkle of a star.

This is the first poem I've written that didn't have a rythm or rhyme, so I was kind of self-conscious when writing it. Tell me what you think!
