Starlight

Starlight

A Poem by Justin Tobey
"

The night sky...

"

Glistening sparks of perfection

twinkle like fiery sand

cast over the dome of deep night.

Pearls, diamonds, opals, and jade

form a glistening fabric of woven starshine.

These sparkling gems turn on a celestial path

around the unflawed sapphire of the North.

Although they are smaller than most,

their icy light can be even more beautiful

than the silvery, smooth waves of moonglow

or the fiery, golden blaze of the sun.

Wisps of clouds spread their eerie tendrils

in a silent salute to the steady twinkle.

With the right kind of Vision,

one can see the Currents of spirit

that bind stars together

in the shapes of powerful beings of the past,

preserved in the canvas of the heavens

by the greater gods of the world.

A subtly shimmering pathway

splits the sky in twain.

Like dust blown from the hand of an angel,

it represents a legacy of mankind

that outlives the greatest empires.

Justin this is wonderful!! How did I miss this one? Your imagery is always so captivating, and in this case quite magical and mystifying. When it comes to imagery my friend, you are a master!

This piece is a gem. Thank you.. !

Wow, I've always wanted to write a poem or some sort of work that was dedicated to the night sky. I tried it once or twice, but got carried away. :P

Anyways, this was very beautiful and all too vivid. It left a lovely painting of a midnight scene in my mind; one that I have dreamed of. Thank you very much for posting this. ^^

Justin, this is a beautiful ode to light...and to the glimmer of dust particles that make up a fierystars existence, those beings of fire that have seen the beginning of

time, powerful suns that inspire and awe with a force that will never be superseded,
the details, Pearls, diamonds, opals, and jade, Glistening sparks of perfection, this

poem is imagery set to the melody of a soul song paying tribute to celestial kingdoms.
the depth itself is something to ponder, like daydreams, this poem takes the reader

to another place and time in ways, beautifully written and a pleasure to read.
Thanks for sharing your talent, take care, Mike
