Spring Rain

Spring Rain

A Poem by Justin Tobey

Chilling winds and grey clouds

encircle and cloak

the waiting world.

Without warning,

stinging shards of celestial glass

plummet from the sky

in sheets and waves

of wild power.

The ground glitters

with the pelting drops,

mocking the starlight

that once gleamed on its surface.

The world is ravaged

and twisted

by the torrents of icy water.

Darkness drapes

like shadows and silhouettes,

smothering the color

of the living world.

But with it, an inner peace unfolds

and love abounds

as creatures far and wide

gather in fellowship

to weather the storm.

We lose ourselves

in the hypnotic dance

of water and air,

and yet, we gain something

even more precious:

tranquility, depth,

and awe at nature's miracles.

You're just so good a writing with imagery! It's amazing!
Simply amazing. This poem, if it included Onomatopoeia,
it might make a person check twice to make sure they
weren't standing outside in the rain. It's amazing!
great Job!
