Black Wind

Black Wind

A Poem by ashley

As you cry out in pain after you tumble on the rocky road, I see. I see that as the clouds run off the sky, as the clear condensation seeps into your nappy, mud filled hair, you cry.

You cry as the red blood runs down your leg, you cry as the sky darkens and you must find a way home. You even cry as you realize only this empty road can hear your cries.

There are no stars as the wind sweeps away leaves on the rough path. There are no colors as the clouds move across the sky and cover up the moon.

A once pink dress now in shreds and shambles, a once blonde head of hair now turned brown with the mud. Once sparkling emerald green eyes now dull as winters leaves.

Tiny footprints are all you’ve left behind as the black wind carries you away.
