Old Man By Sea

Old Man By Sea

A Poem by Silver Pearl
"

Its a simple story of a man who lost the women he loved long ago now he sits by sea

"

The sun’s rays burn his face,

Brown and wrinkled with age,

His mind flashes back to old,

To the memories which he considered gold,

Years before when he was a young man,

Way before the fate played its plan,

Praised he was in the courts of lords,

For being a man so brave and bold,

One day he saw a beautiful woman,

He gave his heart to her than,

Her mate challenged him to a dare,

To win from him and take her from there,

But she came between their combat,

Her mate killed himself of a broken heart,

Strange things of him people told,

On sands of time nobody has hold,

Sits he now on a large granite stone,

Hardships and pain he had borne,

Bent he was now with time,

Splashes softly at his feet brine,

Blind he was to the beauty of sea gull,

Whose cries sounded to him dull,

Far away his gaze drove,

Thinking was he of his lost love,

Shadows from sun a lone tree,

The old man by sea.
