Blinded love

Blinded love

A Poem by Catherine Silv
"

Interpret it as you like.Just trying to make an example from the nowadays often used 'dating sites'. You never really know who the other one really is and there could be an unpleasant surprise waiting

"
I've never seen you,
And certainly never spoke to you.
How do I know you then?

Your face,
your look,
all  your information
disclosed in a simple profile.

Is it a swindle?
Is it the truth?
How do I know if it's the real you?
Are you giving an illusion,
hiding behind tools,
lying through the screen
and making countless fools?

I am falling,
believing you
and you pretty lies...
I am blinded from illusion
my perception is not right.

After days and weeks that pass,
I am meeting up with you-
I imagine you to be
as gorgeous as you told.
But in the blink of an eye,
it was shattered.
The illusion,
My dream.
Cause the love I feared from meeting
was an older man than me
