Days Move On

The time has gone by though I've no idea where
I see it flow out the window with the current of air
    I watch him get bigger with every waking breath
    Why can't I slow down to breathe?  Doesn't anybody care?

I fly through the days only attempting to keep up
With the chaos and drama that only cause time to hiccup
    As it seems time doesn't slow to allow the chance to witness
    As our children grow, as our loved ones leave us

Inch by inch and day by day
It keeps moving on whether there's sun or rain
    There's moon then sun, then moon once more
    Some days you're in love, some days you're in pain

At this moment he was born and clinging to mother
Though the next he is driving and clinging to another
    I'll never understand where all the time has gone
    At the end of the day perhaps, the where doesn't matter
