Ye Who Enters Here...

Ye Who Enters Here...

A Poem by Althea Tremaine
"

An allusion to The Inferno-- it was previously posted up and I'm now re-posting.

"

Scream. Scream into the pages of a book. Cry into a sea of words and drown the echo of your sorrow. Flee from the avalanche of hate that crumbled from a mountain of lies and rot in your cowardly prison of fear until your breath is forgotten. Die alone and cold. Alone and cold like the body your soul left behind. Burn in the fire of your selfishness—bleed from the wounds you’ve created, crafted delicately to your liking. The time has come for you to reap what you’ve sown. So reap every tear you’ve caused. Sting with every dirty touch of her fingertips on your body. Reap the disease you’ve cornered yourself into. Embrace the open gates of hell as the whirlwinds take a hold of you. Reap everything you’ve done as a person and everything you didn’t as a father. Reap it all. Extinguish the false promises you made her believe. Abandon the home you’ve pretended to care for. But most of all, reap the monster you’ve created in my heart… the hate that no longer hides its treacherous face in the folds of my humanity. Reap it.

Reap it all.

Starts out with some great word pictures, then just builds and gets intense right to the end.

This is a powerful poem, and sometimes you just have to tell it like it is. Well done.

'Reap everything you've done as a person and everything you didn't as a father.'

The entire piece was absolutely wonderful, it's going into my favs, but I can really relate to this line as my 13 yr old daughter has not seen her father since she was a baby, which is probably better in the end cuz he's a worthless piece of s**t anyway. But, back to your writing, I really, really enjoyed this one, the anger and the thirst for retribution is so vivid I can almost feel it radiating off the page, feel it flowing through my own veins. What an amazingly well written piece!

This was absolutely amazing. It was so original and strong. My favorite lines were:
"Scream into the pages of a book. Cry into a sea of words and drown the echo of your sorrow. "
I found that part incredibly good.
