Glass Kisses

Glass Kisses

A Poem by Skylar Rose

A steady stream of water
Rains down on me from above
Steaming.
Burning.
Cleansing.
Glass kisses
hurt.
They leave
bruises.
Black,
blue,
and purple.
Love.
On my
skin, and on my
heart.
Wash away
the pain.
Love.
A few crystalline tears escape;
at first just a trickle,
then they pour.
Water scalds
when you turn it
up
as high as it can go.
Searing pain pelting my body.
My skin,
my head,
my heart,
are tingling, going
completely numb. And I
Can't.
Feel.
Anymore.
