Planets Away

Distance is only empty space where a person could be.

I think the worst feeling in life is when something you want is within your reach; and yet you cant have it and you know it. Of course this pertains to love; but not the forbidden kind, or the naughty kind, but the longing kind. The kind where you see that person and you know there is a future in their eyes, and you try to see yourself in that future and it looks so simple... and then you remember that it will never happen.

So you just go through the motions of being around them, hanging with your friends, tagging along to go see a movie, but holding onto a bag of popcorn, not that persons hand. And maybe after a fun day with the friends, everyone is hugging and saying goodbye, and its your turn to hug that person, and you think maybe for a minute that if you hug, you wont be able to let go. So what do you do? You hug them like you would anyone else, not lingering for the moment, not gripping any tighter, because who knows who could be watching? But maybe, just maybe; when they're going back to their car and they give you that final wave, maybe they will see the longing in your eyes, and they'll know how you feel, and they'll be okay with it.

Or maybe its just me.

i relate to this piece of prose...i am one who is so hesitant to go where i am not wanted...and almost have to have a blunt invitation in order to approach a woman with anything other than friendship....

quite insightful

that last wave, that last look, which we hope will not be the last...and might lead to another wave, look and maybe phone call and date.

beautiful! It's full of sadness and yet also hope! It makes me feel emotions which i have never before felt! It's not you, and to tell the truth the way you described what you feel made me want to come and hug you and tell you everything will be alright! :)
But it's beautiful and sad and had a longer affect on me as if conjuring a world which i will be reflecting on for sometime! Thanks so much at least for that favor! :)
