Midnight Dew

Midnight Dew

A Poem by Shayna

 Lower than you
The grass cool and damp
With midnight dew
The breeze twists my hair
Into a tangles mess.

Strechted out above me
My moon looking down
I am an insignificant speck
Painted into this mosaic
Lost on my narrow path
Twined with vines
And grown out roots.

Lean back against the grass
I feel the dew on
My bare skinned thighs
The breeze raps me up
In a chilly blanket.

Strecthed out about me
My moon looking down
I am an insignificant speck
Daunted by this world
And the cruel savage players
That act their parts so well
But my night thinks there's more.

I close my eyes
My mind is still, my breath even
In the cool night
I lay warm
Under the golden glow of the moon.
