Falling for Truth

Falling for Truth

A Poem by UnderTheDeadPoetTree
"

A leap of faith

"
Oh beautiful bird, you've built for yourself a gilded cage,
With mirrored edge and views of sage,

Bushes...from your branch in the tree it's a long way down,
Wind whipping, tearing from your grasp your sense of sound and;

Safety...falling away faster than your imagined truth.
In a vacuum you would fall together but nature abhors a,

Voiding...problems of image and reflections rushing past.
You fall and as you fall you subtract from reality and add,

Clarity...your mirrored prison reflected a thousand lives.
Of one dimensional planes, how could you see through the confusion and,

Pain...as you hit the ground, the truth blooms like cactus flowers,
Beauty amidst scorched earth and prickled armour.

Beautiful bird, you fashioned for yourself a gilded key,
Escape from a kaleidoscope of trickery.
Now learn to fly and wonder why,
We keep birds in cages when they own the sky.
