Pet Peeves

Pet Peeves

A Poem by SM Davis
"

...take it for what you will...

"

One:
Why do people apologize for things they do, yet turn around and do them again?

Two: Why do people bury the hatchet but leave the handle sticking out? (A frying pan isn't as much work.)

Three: Why do people with no color scrutinize those who don't have any control over what color they are?

Four:  Why are we our own worst critics?  (I don't know about you but I'm a GREAT critic!)

Five: Why are seasoned writers only interested in their own writing?

Six: Why do people send out read requests, yet have their own requests turned off?

Seven: I'd rather be hated for who I am, than to be liked for who I'm not. (OK, but who are you?)

Eight: Jealousy...is it REALLY green?

Nine: Absence makes the heart grow fonder. ( Why can't fondness be stated in person?)

Ten: Schroedinger's Cat...i think.

I had a pet once. I didn't name him Peeves though. Maybe I will rethink that for the next one. Hmmmm?

Cheers!
Doc.

I'm still pondering #3...
I don't think Jealousy's green...
And, well, I hate to admit it but you got me with #10.
#2 is a good one.
#5 & 6 are dead on, that's for sure.
Agree with #7.
Always wondered about #1 myself.
#4, well, I have no flaws! hahahahahahahahahahaha *CLUNK, falls out of chair, laughing insanely*
and that brings me to #9 and I have to say, I agree with that one, too...
Don't you ever wonder why there is Braille at the drive-up teller window? It doesn't keep me up at night but I do wonder!

Great write!

God, I wish people would send me more requests!!
I have to say, your first one got me, about apologising. They apologise because they don't mean it. Its bullshit designed to a) placate you whilst b) getting themselves off the hook. If they do it once they will always do it and you know they are not trustworthy.
I do like the Irish one. Maybe its because I'm Irish.........

My one pet peeve is when writers will send out requests but refuse to read and review any of your pieces... This is so irritating... lol.... I like this piece.... it's so much fun to just write a kind of rant some times...

5, 6 and 8 were my favorite! I wonder about some writers on here...you review them and they never even say thank you much less return the favor LOL! I do believe jealousy is in all colors ;)
This was a fun read, Susi :)

I really liked 5 and 6. Envy is green by the way. Jealousy is more of a reddish brown hue. At least that what the color wheel shows. LOL

I like this and how you did it with the colors. A very true and fun piece. I enjoyed the read!

Some very valid points here. Five is my favorite. We could all use help but it seems like most of the time people aren't willing to give that precious commodity. ***Sigh*** Love the Calligraphy pic. Great job!

Eleven: Why does one have "pets" that annoy them to distraction? Aren't pets meant to be cherished?

Twelve: Why do we get so envious when our incredibly talented, and unbelievably sweet, friends write really good stuff we wish we'd thought of?

*sigh*

I have issues.
