Endurance

Endurance

A Poem by Ethan Mariner

As the dying sun streaks the sky

With red and pink and purple dye--

As a dying star streaks through the dark

Brilliant, brief, a moment's arc--

Such glory has a martyr.

As the steady tree steady grows

Rooting, branching, weathering snows--

As the North Star stays lit each night

Shining, leading, the guiding light--

Such glory have many martyr's more.

The rhythm made this poem much powerful with your great deep words. I enjoyed reading this one too.
