Teardrops in the Wind

Teardrops in the Wind

A Poem by Kathleen Burlas

The wind blows on a shivering night of May
The clock strikes and passes twelve
But under the snub of the moon and the stars
An innocent soul is wide awake
On an overlapping view of light and shadows
She sits with a burden renting her thoughts
As she wonder why raindrops didn't fall
She pleads for rain to come
With the words of a pure and sincere heart
She longs for rain to drain her feelings out
But the world is nothing but a cruel place
She waits there in the cold
With her numb and disappointed self
For she knows she won't be heard
"No rain falling tonight I guess,
Just little teardrops in the wind", she says

Beautiful. It was sad and sweet at the same time. I love it. :)
