I'm A Lion

I'm A Lion

A Poem by Stefon Napier

I'm a lion

Not a truth to behold

Racing across savannahs

Herding the day before me

Mane tucked in neat

This is the image I have created for myself

Just until I die.

Good to be the lion. Better to run and know true freedom. I like the vision and good places you took me in the poetry. In the end. Death is the end. Better to know the open range and not be locked up. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I like the simplicity of this. My favorite lines are these:

Racing across savannahs
Herding the day before me

It speaks of freedom and also being actively involved in your own life by herding the day; somehow controlling your destiny.
