have No fear

have No fear

A Poem by Alton
"

this is one of the first poem's I've written that is MEANT to be a song. I've got no idea how the melody goes, but these are lyrics in disguise, I'm sure.

"

Walking on a carpet of hot coals

Missing my keys and my locks

Seeing chances full of holes

Trapped in an endless paradox

Keep it clear

Have no fear

Ain’t no way outta here.

Hands reaching for a star

At least ambition is free.

Of wood and wire

Playin’ my gap-toothed guitar

Like an amputee

With an itching arm,

Hear that charm?

Listen to what you can’t see.

Hold it dear

Have no fear

Ain’t no way outta here.

Mirrors in the dark reflect

Something … Nothing.

Strike a match inside yourself,

Then you’ll see

Anything … Everything.

Like the last tree in the forest

With stumps for brothers.

Learn to steer

Have no fear

That’s the way outta here.

Author's Note

Alton
in case you're not musically oriented, the 'gap-toothed' guitar is one missing a string. One string. Vaguely similar to that One tree left, and yet the opposite at the same time... hmm...
