The Path of a Teardrop

The Path of a Teardrop

A Poem by Somniator21

It surfaces near the eye
with shock crashing down like waves.
To stop it " you need not try,
the current subsides into dark caves.

Then comes the disbelief
in the shape of a frenzy and mischief
of the mind, as if a naïve thief;
thriving in his make-deceive.

Afterwards it’s just despair,
hollow as a bleak blank page
of a book, once full, now an empty lair
overflowing with frozen rage.

That’s when the acceptance follows,
sinking in with comprehensive sadness,
reality's needles " they pierce yet wallow,
sending out an unanswerable call of distress.

In the end a formal feeling settles in,
the indifference appears grey,
it’s easier to simply let it win,
every scarred wound having to stay.
