Point of View

A Poem by Soren

How short is short?

How tall is tall?

How big is big?

How small is small?

How fat’s a pig

How cute’s a doll

How right is right?

How rong is rong?

How light is light?

How strong is strong?

Can the ugly be beautiful?

Can the crazy be sane?

Can the indolent be dutiful?

Can the meaningful be inane?

Can a coward be brave?

Can the honest lie?

Can a hero be a knave?

Can the lifeless die?

When does ecstasy turn to pain?

When does loss turn to gain?

When does hate turn to love?

What’s intelligence, come push to shove?

Sixty is old until your sixty-first birthday you declare.

Timbuktu is far away until you are there

What to some is evil to others is holy

Aristocratic to some to others lowly

When you think you’re worse off than others are

When you think that other’s are odd

Remember the dimmest light can be the biggest star

And that there is no perfect, even for God
