This little piece says so much more than meets the eye. Some things are better left to be filled in by the beholder.

Thank you so much Steel Magnolia for taking the time to read and comment on this piece.
Actually, I think it's because doctors slap their hind parts.

Actually, I think you're right John. Thanks for the review and comment
I think that babies cry, craving for their mother's milk and announcing to the world that "I'm here".....but also to bring to the world another life, one of compassion, trust, love, sincerity.... to learn from others about life itself....and perhaps way down the line as we age, to learn about the dignity of death. This says so much Soren in few words... I really like it, great for group discussion....

Personally I really like the thoughts that your little piece provoke and in my view, we are not born to die, but to leave the mark of our existence for others to find. and I believe babies cry at birth because that is the only form of communication they know. I do like your thoughts though...very creative and very cool.
I like to think the world is a better or let's say a more interesting place because of me and because of everyone that is in it. So, I think we are born to live, death is just the final performance.

So true Will. I find myself, many times, writing things I do not necessarily believe or feel to see .. read more
We are born into bright lights and cold after the warm darkness of the womb; born into a life of loneliness after being one with mother and so close to another heart. Who wouldn't want to cry? Death, in comparison, seems not so bad to me.

So true Fabian
So much meaning in this brevity and I have to say, it brought a tear to my own eye.

Thank you Chris for the visit and comment. It is deeply appreciated.
We cry for that indeed and also for the wrong decision to be born here. It is all very very sad. If I sat down for a while and seriously thought about all the pain and needless suffering on this planet, I'd cry myself to death surely. A very heavy question asked, dear Soren.

Thank you for asking it though. We need to be reminded of life's reality from time to time.
