If we are not wise compassion will be our demise (A thought)

If we are not wise compassion will be our demise (A thought)

A Poem by Soren

In nature with all its wisdom, that which is weak dies

but as people, this no person sees

As humans we think that compassion is most wise

Though this is true for the individual it's not for the species

Is the value of the group worth more than any one life's demise

or an individual life worth more than the sum total of humanity?

Between the individual and species there must be a compromise

Individual charity balances nature's brutality

Nature's cycle dies and rebirths...there is no passion or wisdom...but in humanity there is passion and wisdom... I like the question you pose about one person's life being more important than the sum total of humanity....My guess is that each person is unique, like no other person and that person's 'life is most important to he/she; otherwise we would be like cattle herded around not differentiating any of them...so in my opinion only, one's life is as important as the next but in a unique way.....food for thought!
Warmly, B
