![]() ShortyA Poem by SorenStood only five foot tall with their back against the wall could best them all As an oak in a hurricane stands, arms steel bands, grip of a vice in their hands Worked more than any one, from dawn to setting sun, then they'd only begun Knee deep in bogs on their back hauling logs, meaner than any junkyard dogs Could out curse any man tongue of a rusty tin can words the devil would ban At cards could deal knew how to steal, cooked a chef's saucier meal Sharp as a razor blade, called a spade a spade could swindle and trade Could out think and with nary a blink, could any one out smoke or drink Hard as nails soft as down, sometimes acted the clown, never sported a frown Grew up wild, with heart tender, nature mild, so gentle with any child Body and face of Aphrodite, wearing her silk nighty, how I miss her god almighty
