Floral memories

Floral memories

A Poem by Soren

The smell of lilacs, memories of the past
Roses aroma pungent wafts of adoration
Jasmine summer nights, passion so vast
Petunias, father's loving dedication

Honeysuckle's romance southern perfumes drift
Orange blossoms remembered summer's night breeze
Viburnum, sudden return to a childhood tree's gift
Daphne, old age's winter acceptance, olfaction does please

Daffodils subtle fragrance of spring
Oleander a warning given
Violets mother's scent does bring
Angel trumpets memories in dreams driven

A smell lifts you to heaven or drops you to hell
It's in a petal's shell where perfumes dwell

My garden is coming alive. We get late Springs in Michigan. My tulips are standing tall. Roses coming. A wonderful poem Soren. In my old age, I like my garden more than going anywhere. A wonderful dance of words my friend.

You are welcome my friend and I hope you are enjoying the days of Spring.
The scent of good memories or bad...spring comes with its glossary of aromas...
That can remind us of days of love or days of heartache and missing someone.
Most of the smells lift me in spring...I know for william carlos williams, spring was a negative for the widow and she lamented...I try to move forward.
Excellent piece.
