Nightfall

Nightfall

A Poem by Emma Arthurs

The moon is sewn into the sky
With stars to fall around
And about. Clouds etched in pastels
Of grey, and heated silver

The empty house in distance,
And a willow where things are
Buried. Alive with dust,
And a rope cut short

To give breath instead

Wind brings news, and creatures
And death, life " disguised
Like Clover, who gave birth to
clover, from her wounds

Words spilled into dirt of
Garden paths where they reach
Grass and worms, seep into earth
And ideas of loneliness
