A Drug Called Bukowski

A Drug Called Bukowski

A Poem by Emmy J.M. Powell

Books are for,
people who have,
nothing else,
to dive into,
and I feel like,
I'm always,
diving into writing,
off of a springboard,
while others,
just step into the water,
and let themselves,
sink to the bottom,
until they,
have to come,
back up.

But when I dive in,
it's unlikely for me,
to break the surface,
as the same person,
if I dare to even,
come back up at all.
