Glass Doll

Glass Doll

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

So sick of all the lies you speak,

The “truth” you seem to spread…

All stupid lies!

My tears of pain turned to tears of hate…

They froze quickly on my pale, cold cheeks,

So, standing up, all I can say is “Bye”

Porcelain doll, your heart is cold…

Do you expect warmth from me?

Do you expect compassion?

Do you expect passion?

Why don’t I look at you, little Glass Doll?

Because the mere sight of you makes me hurt,

Because the way you live your life makes me sick,

Makes my stomach churn,

Turn up-side down and disgust me.

Thanks, Glass Doll, for killing  it all..

Making me hurt and bleed and cry.

Thanks little traitor, you did the job well…

Now it’s all over, my life is hell!

I’m so over your lies…

Over your s**t,

This is goodbye, you make me sick.

Fantastic, excellent metaphor using porcelain doll as an unfeeling person as they sit there hard and lifeless...

My tears of pain turned to tears of hate
They froze quickly on my pale, cold cheeks,

These lines sent a heartbreaking shiver down my spine...

Bravo for the powerful piece.
