Frankenstein

Frankenstein

A Poem by Laura Sparkle
"

by Marie Shelley- If you have not read the book, you won't get it.

"

V:            I gave my life to you, you worthless piece of clay!

From dust to dust, at the end of the day.

You monster! You terrifying creature!

How dare you ask what you do… of me?!

How dare you request such things?

Damned creature! Is hell your home?

Do you miss it? Will you return?

C:            I never asked for anything from you,

A damned existence spilling on this earth!

You destined me to look like this,

A demon from the Underworld!

A golden heart polished by misfortune,

A scary face without apparent reason,

Why, creator, must you hate me?

V:            I wish for nothing more than your departure,

To disappear in some forgotten world,

I, your creator, banish you!

So, disappear you monster sent by Hell!

C:            But master, I never meant to hurt…

Bloodshed was never my idea…

Very well, master I will depart…

And along with me, all you ever loved!

Sounds like a child to a parent as well. I like it. Kudos. You might like my piece "Write! (Frankenstein as the Poet)". Good work.

Fantastic work Laura... you so forcefully show how not all creatures of the night like each other, a myth that need to be dispelled, I say to thumbs up!!
