Must be smiling

Must be smiling

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

Dark clouds gather on the azure sky,

And a strong stench lingers in the air.

And lightning bolts jump to tag the earth,

Earthquakes and thunderstorms,

Hurricanes and tornadoes…

All come and there are the four horsemen,

Good friends of mine…

Poker night again.

Animals lose all control,

Men and women start to fear…

Children panic silently.

The end is coming silently,

What can I say?

I must be smiling.

Ohhoooooo, this one actually gave me shivers. The allusion was to the four horsemen of the apocalypse, yes? I hope so, it was so well crafted that I almost missed the significance, but found it in time. I admire this one, quirky and unique, great work!!!

Sounds like the start of Armageddon and the devil is drooling... a twisted but fun write.

I love this... it's so fun, it must be a scary sight to see a smile sometimes.... behind a smile is something we'll never know lol... The images were amazingly expressed. Great Job!

The end of days with a twist! I loved it!
The four horseman comin to play poker! That's a great image.

Of course you're smiling! For all the end of days really symbolizes is change.

Great Write!

Nicely done. I was taken in by the opening lines wondering what the descent into darkness would reveal. Having said that, maybe the poker game does become pretty black - guess this depends on who happens to be winning.....

Not sure if you need the second 'silently' - 'The end is coming' sounds pretty forceful on it's own.

The title of the poem definately works.
