In Your Arms

In Your Arms

A Poem by Laura Sparkle

I close my eyes in a lonely bed,
And tighten my arms around me...
There's nothing here, except for the sheets,
And yes, there's the loneliness
That comes with an empty bed.
There is no light in this darkened room,
There is no sound, not even breath tonight.
It's desolate...

I open my eyes to a nice, warm bed,
And two strong arms to keep me steady...
A kiss on my forehead and a smile for me,
The candlelit room that glows in the night
Nothing can rip me from your arms tonight,
In your bed and your heart
I am safe.

Awe that is really very tender... nothing beats falling asleep in the arms of the one you love... best way to wake up to.
