Childrens' play

Childrens' play

A Poem by spayne94

In my ear,

All that I hear,

Is children's play,

On such a bright sunny day,

The loud laughter and spilt tears,

As I cover my small tiny ears,

These children, they do not fear,

As I am only near,

I see smiles and joy,

As they line up each single toy,

But soon it is the end of the day,

And there is no longer much to say,

The children wave,

And say goodbye to their dear friend Dave.

As a teacher I love this poem as it makes me remember the days of teaching second and third grade. Good job!

This reminded me how much I miss my stepchildren, so noisy when they were around, but a sound that I truly miss.

Ah, interesting topic on the joy and innocence from children during their mere hours of playtime. Nice flow and rhythm. Though I was thrown off a bit near the end with the mentioning of Dave. I'm not sure if that's to make a rhyme or if it's supposed to be a haunting effect as if this "Dave" character were an imaginary friend or something of the like. Nonetheless, not a bad poem~

Makes me think of a cashier ringing up a line of kid customers at a toy store. Or probably a scene at a local playground? Its pleasant, and the rhyme flows smoothly. I like how it somehow emphasizes one of those everyday scenes.
^0^ Good Job~~

Thank you, it's a scene of a children's playground. Thank you, x
There is nothing like the laughter of children to inspire us. It's pretty good for a first rhyme. The only one that didn't work for me were the last two lines- wave and Dave felt forced; that is rhyming wave with Dave solely because it rhymes.
