I Sit and Wait in Darkness

I Sit and Wait in Darkness

A Poem by Speechless Shadow
"

Another poem by Speechless.

"

I sit and wait in darkness

As he lingers by the graves

Of each and every one of us.

He laughs like death

I am not proud to say

His happiness is sharp as knives.

It gives a sensation

Of something I did wrong

Something I can never recover.

I sit and wait in darkness

Alone and all by myself

Never daring to even breathe.

The dark thoughts overpower me

I am too afraid to think

That I may never wake to light.

I am frightened by the darkness

Pushing ever so slightly,

And daring me to leave forever.

I sit and wait in darkness

As I pray so hard

That I may be purged from this darkness.

Wow this is so full of imagery that amazed. I find this poem touching and very heart felt. I adored how each stanza is only 3 lines that is very clever it creates a out standing flow that the reader can enjoy.

He laughs like death
I am not proud to say
His happiness is sharp as knives.

I can relate to this as I know someone who's heart is so cold his happiness is liek knifes. This stanza stands out the most for me.
