A poem about the aftermath of death

Cry softly now
With gentle breaths
Running wild
And I’m finally free

I know you miss me
And I miss you too
It’s okay if you’re mad
I understand

The world was to much
My heart to heavy
For it carried the weight
Of a little girl lost

I am at peace
And now free of all pain
I saw my escape
I finally found the end

I know what you wanted
For me to stay
But the tolls were to much
My spirit had already died

Nothing could save me
As I stood on the bridge
Over I went
Quick and painless

I’m sorry it’s not different
That we can’t go on together
I know I hurt you deeply
I hope one day you’ll forgive me
