Ashes to Ashes

Ashes to Ashes

A Poem by spider

Often it seems that failures are ours
With whom nobody else to share
Who will forgive us in these hours

When we need somebody to care?

Life is sometimes a funnel
In the midst of a tornado spinning
You cannot always snatch the tunnel
Adeptly as you can when you’re winning

Hold on at the rim of disaster
Hold tight when under attack
Be steady when the world falls faster
Your feet must hold their tack

Cry out for help for someone
Maybe a higher authority to clutch
A voice retorting to take your hand
And walk with me as such

March with me through the shadow
Follow me to the mount
For valleys of loneliness shallow
At times when they actually count

There are spells when we are forced to shutter
There are times to holler with glee
And we mustn’t forget to murmur
For someone is always there with thee

We will not be rendered in
The soul of my pen
As I am now too unearthly
To take form of ivory
For years of effort in shaping an elegy
