AS DOLLS

AS DOLLS

A Poem by SAYED THANGAL
"

Dolls never become humans, but humans some times become dolls.

"
AS DOLLS
Reclining the tired forehead on the table
The call from the kitchen startled him
His mother,  not for tea
But him to remind ,
To 'read' and 'do home work',
From out sounds  the car ,
In full dress , suitcase  in hand ,
Father - moving straight to the boy's room !
'Home work completed' ?
Before an answer comes ,
'Do it and make it fast'
Distant jubilant voices of children
Sharpen the brightness of the evening ,
'Do they call me' ? 'no , they won't' ,
A sigh , deep , within !
Smile innocent turned into frown
With eyes dim and gloomy
Heaviness sinking the heart down
As bundles of books blocking the walk straight !
A doll has he become
Lying on a baby's lap.
Everything around watches
But dumb to speak
Like a lamb so meek !

You speak straight from the heart and pen straight from the fountain ...Bravo

You are welcome...:)..............
What a nice reflection on what it is to be a child and have dreaded homework in the way of play, seen through the boy's eyes. A great poem, Sayed.
