The weeds

The weeds

A Poem by SAYED THANGAL
"

weeds are always a problem for the crops

"
To gain  mastery,the weeds,
Invisible in the field earlier,
Compete,often, overpower the crops,
Oh ! struggle to uproot the weeds

Care constant, high vigilance,
Make the weeds recede
Still, be in wait, not losing the grip
Again to up shoot.

' What a difference' , amazing
No attention,no formal input,
Yet, the unwanted,from all corners
Spring up one by one.

' The land  likes the weeds'
Surely suspected
Yes,may the instincts be so.
But how obstinate one is.

With two eyes to two side,
Crushed with one hand the enemy,
Held up ,with the other, the harvest,
Smiles,peace,joy at last.

I loved the line..."the land likes the weeds" :)...to me this spoke of sins or vices, imperfections that we are always seeking to weed out so we can have a fruitful harvest. Cultivating the ground is in so many ways, an apt metaphor for living.

Weeds are a nuisance, growing more than other things. A nice poem, Sayed.

My pleasure...:).......................
Although it is an ongoing issue, I like how you have conquered the enemy (weeds) in the last stanza and ended the poem in a positive way.

Smiles,peace,joy at last.

So true....
Such is the struggle of life in whatever form we choose to see it. Animal, vegetable or mineral. Humans are animals too, aren't they? Beware the weeds of dawn e're thoughts upon them fawn.
