sutured smile

sutured smile

A Poem by Alice Luanne Sutcliffe

i asked him if i could have his heart, please
he smiled at me all glasgow and unconvincing and said nothing

and i didn't understand what the nothing meant

(how can there be nothing if you mean everything to me?)
