A Poem by Kristin

You said to stop drinking
Because it'll kill me
And I don't know if its because I want to die
Or if it makes me feel more alive
But it helps
Keep me sane
It will slowly
Shut me down
Burning my throat
Breaking through my blood stream
Killing my liver
Leaving me at the kiss of death
You told me to stop drinking
But its all I have left

Well, that's just ... I have all of these street, sailor and railroad phrases to use but I'm going to restrain myself. Better to walk forever on a beach. Think about it. A really nice and icky thought-poem.

100 deathly kisses

I feel as if this poem lacks depth. I keep rereading the lines separately, together, in bulk but I can't find it. Maybe that's what the poem is ment to reflect. Who says poems have to always go deep and can't be straight to the point. Have to say this one is original, but again, it isn't. I do like it, don't get me wrong. It's just clear like the sky. I enjoyed reading it and thinking it through.

I particularly like how the piece indicates a caring companion in the beginning, then suggests that the very same person has abandoned you save for their words which haunt you in their absence..
