A New Chapter

As that chapter ends,

A new one begins.

I finally closed that revolving door,

I won't let him come back anymore.

My son and I deserve so much better,

Than a once a week "I'm sorry" letter.

Now my search begins again,

For a lover and best friend.

Someone who will share their life and love,

And make my heart soar on the wings of a dove.

A man who understands,

One who wants to make plans.

So as I begin this new adventure,

I search for a man with potential.

One to love my son and I for who we are,

One whose love shines brighter than any star.

One who will let his feelings show,

A man who can make me glow.

I'm starting anew.

New love to be found,

A better life all around.

Not much older than before,

But wiser to the core.

After the hurt and pain subsided,

I am much stronger than before I decided.
