A Fathers Love

A Fathers Love

A Poem by starlight1

He remembers the birth of his first child
As he thinks about the first time she smiled
He was the one that taught her how to walk
Daddy was the first word she spoke as he taught her how to talk
The years went on as she got married to her fiancee
With her father by her side it was such a beautiful day
As her father walked proudly to give away his daughter as they walked down the aisle
Upon their faces they had a huge smile
The ceremony began as her new husband and her danced across the room
The was such warmth and love in the chapel that filled the the air like a flower in bloom
Her father congratulated his son in law and turned to his daughter and said can I have this dance with you
For my daughter I love you and am always so proud of you
They keep in touch all the time and he was blessed over the years with two grand daughters with beautiful blond hair and eyes so blue
For fathers day they are making a lovely fathers day cake
All of them together are going fishing together at the lake
His son and law bought a beautiful gift for his father in law for fathers day
As he turns to his daughter and says always know that I am never far away
She gives him a hug and says daddy I am glad you are so proud of me to
For you gave me strength and love over the years and I owe alot of my happiness because of you
