Her Name Was Love

Her Name Was Love

A Poem by startnostatic

Once upon a time

When full moons shined through day and night

There lived a girl,

my life and light

Around her shoulders

hung pale blonde hair,

her eyes pierced blue,

her skin was fair

We met by chance,

as those things go

And fell in love,

as you all know

Funny now, remembering

Her name itself was Love

Funnier still

was the man

that I saw her hug

I asked her who might that man be?

she shrugged and sighed,

"the other half of me."

And so once upon a time

darkness covered the globe

He fell for Love

and she for He

Despite my broken soul

In The End I hid away,

my trust in Man obviously misplaced

I pen this tale

so you will know

my fate, no go and find your own
