Broken Blue

Broken Blue

A Poem by alwaysmovefast

Your eyes are always so blue
So blue, it could put the ocean water to shame.
I looked into them and the tears were always ready to fire.
I could hold you for hours and watch you sink
But I'll always be there to pull you out of this mess.

You'll never drown on my account
never in this bed of mine.
Sleeping alone is the key to sadness tonight
and tonight, you sleep with me.

You cry for help and you cry for my attention
I'll give you all the help you need
and I'll sit here for hours with my hand on your heart.

Your secrets are the secrets I hold inside
and never letting them out of this cage is my job.
The rain is ours this evening
and we'll spend this moment getting our hands wet.

You fake it to everyone but I see your pieces chipping away
and all I can do is sweep you up and put you back together.
I wait and wait for you to fall so that I may catch you
And to catch you, I collapse on my own to break your fall.

Sleep catches up with you because your nights are spent in despair
Don't leave my love. Stay with me and I will cater to all your needs
Stay and I will be yours.
I will be your happiness and your tears.
