A Reason to Believe

A Reason to Believe

A Poem by Steph Cruz

His aura is that of the moon:
only to be viewed in a total eclipse
of the heart, mind, and soul;
the light that shines through the darkness
and illuminates the way for the lost and broken-hearted.

He is watching always and so tenderly
and the twinkling gaze descends gently;
the stars that are His eyes
know no judgement and speak no sound
aside from the silent hymn of your undulating beauty.

He is the face you trace among the stars
and the last name you swap out and claim as yours;
the freckles on His shoulders that seem to
spell out answers to your prayers,
oh, His touch is a brush of heaven.

He may be no god and
you are certainly no goddess,
but His blush is something holy,
and the way He says your name is enough to give you faith
that there are always things worth believing in.

Steph I want to cry reading this!

You use some very good imagery in this, and I think you've expanded on your concept fairly well. I think the ending is a little weak, but overall, this is nicely done.
